Adding the Global Mobilization Compatibility Mod to your modpack
The purpose of this wiki page is to instruct you on how to add the Global Mobilization (GM) Compatibility Mod to your modpack, using Swifty. This guide assumes that you already have Swifty and your desired repo installed.
I OWN GM: - To enable it using Swifty you click on your repo settings and add -mod=GM;
to your startup parameters!
I DO NOT OWN GM: - Follow the guide below
Step 1: Preparation
Before we download the mod, we need to make sure there is enough space. On Steam the mod is labelled as being ~500mb, it is in fact 20.5gb. When you subscribe, it will download to a hidden folder in your ArmA installation folder. So make sure you have room!
Once you've done that, go ahead and subscribe! Mod page: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1776428269
Now, while that bad boy downloads we can configure our Swifty.
Step 2: Configuring Swifty
- Open Swifty and navigate to your Swifty settings by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner
- Click on the
Additional Search Folders
button - Click
Add folder
- Navigate to your ArmA 3 install folder
- Select the
!workshop
folder- If you can't see this folder you will need to navigate to your ArmA folder in windows explorer, click on
View
at the top of the window, and then check the box next toHidden Items
. If the!workshop
folder still doesn't appear, try launching the ArmA 3 vanilla launcher. Once youve done this you can try this again.
- Click OK!
You should now see that folder appear in on Swifty.
Step 3: Fucking Steam Workshop
Once Steam tells you that it's finished downloading the mod, go ahead and launch ArmA from STEAM, not Swifty. We want to get the ArmA 3 vanilla launcher in front of us.
When that appears, all we need to do is wait. We're waiting for a small, green, notification to appear at the bottom of the window.
This notification should say something along the lines of:
Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany: Compatibility Data for Non-Owners has been successfully installed
After you see this notification you can close the Vanilla Launcher.
Step 4: Back to Swifty
Now, go ahead and restart Swifty.
Done that? Sure?
You need to restart Swifty.
I'll wait, its not a problem.
Done? Ok sweet.
- Open your REPO settings. This time by clicking on the repo, and then on the small cog icon that appears on the right hand side.
- Navigate to the
External Addons
tab.- This tab will be populated with all the mods that you're currently subscribed to for ArmA 3
- Toggle the button next to
Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany: Compatibility Data for Non-Owners
- Close the settings
Now when you launch that repo the GM Compat mod will be running!
